We believe in the value and importance of marriage as a sign of God’s ‘covenantal’ love for humanity. We believe marriage is an important institution in and for the life and development of the church community and society. Thus we welcome, support and encourage engaged couples in their preparation and celebration of marriage.

Preparation:

Preparation for marriage is required not only because of the importance and value we place on marriage as a sacrament – a reflection of God’s covenant and love for humanity – but also because the commitment of unconditional love in marriage is a demanding challenge and a great responsibility.

Requirements:

All couples are:

1. to give at least 6 months notice of intended marriage
2. to participate in a form of marriage preparation (e.g., Centacare, Relatewell etc.)
3. to be involved in the preparation of their wedding ceremony
