Letter “M”: Symbol of Mary, woman of great faith. Fr. Lee Sciarrotta SM, a member of the Marianist Fathers, was the first parish priest.

Anchor: Sign of hope, St. Jude is the patron saint of the hopeless.

Sun-dial: Langwarrin means “long waiting”. The parish was established during the liturgical season of Advent, “a time of waiting”.

Southern Cross: Constellation symbol of Australia.

Heart: Symbol of love. St. Jude’s parish was excised from St John the Evangelist (the ‘beloved disciple’) parish, East Frankston.

In the Coat of Arms the scroll depicts the Epistle that Jude wrote which is part of the canon of the New Testament.
