Letter "M": Symbol of Mary, woman of great faith. Fr. Lee Sciarrotta SM, a member of the Marianist Fathers, was the first parish priest. 

Anchor: Sign of hope, St. Jude is the patron saint of the hopeless.

Sun-dial: Langwarrin means "long waiting". The parish was established during the liturgical season of Advent, "a time of waiting".

Southern Cross: Constellation symbol of Australia.

Heart: Symbol of love. St. Jude's parish was excised from St John the Evangelist (the 'beloved disciple') parish, East Frankston.
